For a minute there...I thought the baby was coming NOW!

When I was pregnant with Hunter, my dogs went crazy. Aggie wouldn't leave my stomach and would snap at anyone that came near me. She was just different. She knew something was happening and it was obvious.

Hunter is doing the EXACT same thing. He constantly wants to be with me. He wants to lay on my stomach, he screams when I leave the room, he doesn't want to go to day care (HE LOVES DAY CARE) and he is overall just acting weird.

Yesterday, I went to the dentist and while they were poking around in my mouth, I got super hot and then blacked out (not full black out, but definitely seeing black spots, room spinning, etc). I just associated it with the poking and being pregnant, but not really with the pregnancy. 4 more times throughout the day, I had hot flashes and 2 of those times, I got really lightheaded and dizzy, so I called the doctor last night and they told me to call first thing in the morning unless it happened again. If it would have happened again, they wanted me to go to labor and delivery and get checked out.

This morning, I called and they told me to come in. They checked me out and everything looks good. My blood pressure is normal, my cervix is closed and there are no signs of dehydration. They did say my blood sugar levels were a little low. Overall...good visit, and they want to see me back in 2 weeks.

The heart rate was 147 BPM and my belly was measuring 32 weeks (I am 34 1/2 weeks right now)....

I guess little man needs to stay in there a little bit longer!!!

Memories

Over 6 months ago, I took this video of Hunter dancing to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I had completely forgotten about it until I got an email that someone had made a comment about it. So fun!

I. NEED. SLEEP.

So yesterday, Hunter skipped nap due to us celebrating his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Last night bedtime was TERRIBLE. We did his bedroom routine and he screamed every time I left the room. Not just crying...SCREAMING..at the top of his lungs. At 12:30 I gave up and brought him to the couch with me where I tried to get him to sleep for the next hour....no luck. So we moved to the guest room (full sized bed with toddler rails) and he played for about an hour or 2 until I fell asleep and when I woke up he was sleeping next to me......

So far tonight is the same....this is NOT fun! Please don't let this be a new phase.....

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Happy birthday Hunter! Since we already had a birthday party to celebrate his big day, we kept it low key and my mom and grandmother came into town for the weekend. We went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch and Hunter had a great time! It is probably his favorite place. I will post more pictures tomorrow, but here are a few to start with:

Here we are...all 4 generations:

I have been using photoshop for a while, but never for actual photo editing...here is my first attempt:

Houma House Pictures

The coordinator of the Schlumberger Spouses Association in Houma lives 6 houses down from our new house. I asked her to take a few pictures for me of the house so I could see what it looks like now that it is nearing completion! Here is what she emailed me!!!

Closet Organizers for Braden's Room

YAY! I finally made my project. Hobby Lobby has been out of the door hangers I needed for the last week so I have been (not so patiently) waiting for them to come in. Yesterday, I decided since I will be using ribbon to hang the dividers, I didn't really need to use actual door hangers with the holes in them, so I bought a 6 pack of wooden slats (for $1.99!! instead of .99 each!!!!) and the wooden jungle animals at Hobby Lobby. I didn't want to buy the ribbon until I could hold it up to the hangers, so I will go get that today and then I will have a finished set! Here is how they turned out:

Hunter is almost 2!!!

I cannot believe that in just 4 days, Hunter will be 2 years old! It is crazy that time passes so quickly and that he is growing so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was going to my doctors appointments, pregnant with him, nervous and excited about what was in store for us! And here we are now...with a little man running around the house. Since Josh didn't know when he would be home, we took advantage of a weekend we new we would be here back in February and had his 2nd birthday party then. I wanted to wait to post pictures until closer to his actual birthday, so here they are:

Here is the invitation:

34 Week Doctor's Appointment

I had my appointment at 9:00 this morning. I was out by 9:10. Everything looks good! My belly is....growing! The baby's heartbeat sounded good (I forgot to get the number....ooops!).

My project for this week is to make these dividers for Braden's closet:

Hunter is sick....again!

Well, we got past the stomach bug, but now he has the croup. I had to look it up since I wasn't exactly sure what "croup" meant. Here is the definition:

The term croup does not refer to a single illness, but rather a group of conditions involving inflammation of the upper airway that leads to a cough that sounds like a bark, particularly when a child is crying.

Poor guy just can't seem to stay well! He is on a steroid to help it and she said we should see results by tomorrow. The pharmacist said that the steroid could cause him to be super hyper and not sleep very well. So far, so good. He has been in a very silly mood, but I don't know if it has any relation to the meds or if he is just being silly!

On a different note, another family looked at the house today! keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Josh got to see the Houma house today and said it looks great. The last time he was there, he picked out the granite for the counter tops and they have since installed them. The fence is also up in the back yard now. I can't wait to see the house!!! It was so....unfinished...when I was there, It is so strange to think that in 3 weeks we will own it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my 34 week appt tomorrow morning at 9....I am hoping for an ultrasound, but I think it is just wishful thinking! I will update when I get home!

Messy Cobbler

Josh and I are completely addicted to a new Cherry Cobbler Recipe we found in the cookbook my mom made for me. It is the EASIEST recipe ever and tastes delicious!

In a 9X13 pan, you layer a can of cherry pie filling, a box of butter recipe yellow cake mix and 2 sticks of butter melted. Bake on 350 for 30 minutes. It is awesome!

We make ours in a MUCH smaller/deeper bowl and it works great.

Little Man is Sick....

On Thursday afternoon, we got a call from day care saying that Hunter was throwing up and running a fever. We picked him up and his temperature was back to normal. It has been a little high, but never above 100.8 since then. Well, last night was the worst night of sleep we have had in a LONG time. I THINK I was up with him 3 different times and the last was from 4-8 when Josh got up with him so I could go back to sleep. We finally thought he was feeling a little better and then he threw up again. He fought his nap time today and I just got him to sleep an hour and a half late after a 30 minute struggle. Hopefully, he will sleep for at least a couple of hours and wake up feeling better! I hope that whatever bug he has goes away quickly...I hate when my little man doesn't feel good!

33 Weeks

I am 33 weeks today! It is hard to imagine that Hunter was born at 38.5 weeks (just 5 weeks from this point!!!). We could have a baby in just over a month! Here are 2 pictures of my belly from today!

Old Pictures = Good Memories

As much as I enjoy taking pictures of Hunter now, one of my very favorite things to do is go back and look at pictures from when he was younger. Here are just a few of my favorites:

This one was taken at Roadhouse last summer:

We went to Sea World last June and this is Hunter at the end of the trip:

MORE Marshmallows!

Hunter absolutely loves marshmallows and would eat them all the time if I would let him. He is sitting next to me right now with his red bowl (knowing that it is red is VERY important....as he has decided he MUST choose which color bowl he wants every time he gets one) with marshmallows. Every once in a while he will count them for me or ask me to count them for him, but for the most part, he just enjoys eating them!!

We put Hunter's big boy bedding on the guest bed to show him what it was like and he loved it. He didn't quite get it, so Josh had to show him how a big boy bed works. They climbed in bed and Josh pretended to sleep....then Hunter pretended to snore....

Update on Sarge

I took him to the vet this morning and they said it was a good thing I brought him in when I did. His eye was extremely inflamed (when they looked at it, it was about the same color as his tongue) and they said it was due to allergies and him messing with his eyes. They also said that if I would have waited, he probably would have developed ulcers on his eyes...poor guy! They gave him a steroid and he is also on some eye drops twice a day and benedryl. I can already tell he is feeling better!

For those who don't know him...this is Sarge:

Randomness

Lots of random stuff...

FOR SALE: Finally, our house is up for sale!!! I took care of signing all of the papers today and people can start looking at it tomorrow!

No more wiggles??? WAHOO!! Hunter asked to watch Elmo today instead of The Wiggles. Not that the wiggles are the worst thing in the world, but I can only take so much of them! (It didn't last long, as soon as elmo was over....he asked for wiggles.)

Daddy Time: When Josh is out of town, we try to get on webcam and let Hunter talk to daddy for a little while. It was so cute tonight, because we have been saying prayers with daddy on speaker phone, but since we were on webcam, we thought we would try it that way....Hunter was not having it! We had to be in our spot on the floor in his room with daddy on speaker phone. I guess bedtime routine is important to our little man!!!

Sarge: I have to make an appointment for Sarge to see the vet tomorrow. He has been acting really sad lately. I am not sure if it is him realizing the baby is coming or Josh being out of town or if something is wrong with him. Today I noticed he is squinting really bad, so I am going to take him in for a general check up as well as discuss our move and getting all of the shot records, etc.

Braden Update: Braden is moving all over the place today! He is extremely active all of a sudden. I am so glad I am carrying him a little differently than I did Hunter. He is much lower and doesn't always have a foot in my ribs! Yay! I can breathe! On the other hand, I am having pains in my leg/lower back when I walk...the doctor recommended I get a massage....as soon as I get everything finished with the house, i will take her advice!!!!

My pretty blog: I just have to say that I am SO happy with how the blog turned out! I worked very hard figuring out how to do everything (don't ask...I probably can't remember how I did most of it!!!) I LOVE IT!

Time for a hair cut!

I have needed to take Hunter in for a hair cut for a while now, but have been putting it off because it is not the easiest task to accomplish by myself. I got brave today and off to Sports Clips we went. While we were in the car, he ate a gummy bear and I didn't think anything of it. By the end of the hair cut, he had hair stuck to his hands, his face, and everywhere else....lesson learned! He had a great time holding the guards and saying what color they were.

BEFORE

AFTER

Even though it happens every time we get his hair cut, I can't believe how much older he looks!!!!

Wall Letters

I finished Braden's wall letters today and LOVE them! I think they will match his bedding perfectly! The bedding is in the back of a storage closet right now, as we get ready to put the house on the market, so I can't actually hold the letters up next to it, but I am sure it will work!

Here is a picture of his crib bedding:

and here is a picture of the letters:

32 Weeks

Today was my 32 week doctor's appointment. I look forward to every single appointment when I am pregnant. It is the highlight of my week to hear that little heart beating and find out how my belly is measuring. Today the heart beat was 140bpm and my belly was measuring 31 weeks. We talked about possible induction to make sure Josh will be here for the delivery, but she said that there is new research showing that the baby's brain may still be developing up until 40 weeks, so she won't even talk about it until 39 weeks and then she will think about it. I also asked her if Hunter being born early was any indication of when Braden will arrive. Her response was that normally, yes, if the first is early, the next one will be too, but it is not always that way. All in all, it was a good visit!
